Abstract

This article examines the principles of integrating former industrial buildings into the historical urban fabric by adapting them for museum and educational purposes. The key approaches and methods for preserving the cultural heritage of depressed territories, presented in the study, contribute to the sustainable development of these zones into a functional urban environment. When developing a revitalization concept, it is essential to employ a comprehensive approach to spatial planning, conduct a thorough site analysis, and review global and domestic experience in revitalizing areas with similar characteristics. Based on the findings, a project model applicable to similar sites can be developed for the revitalization of territories and objects. The proposed approaches reveal the potential of historical sites in factory towns and ensure their adaptation to contemporary functions.
