Abstract
Pipeline Research Council International launched in 2020 the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Strategic Research Priority, or GHG SRP. This SRP bridged multiple technical committees, including Com-pressor and Pump Station, Measurement, and Integrity and Inspection. In total, the SRP funded over 30 individual research projects that advanced the state of knowledge and art as related to technol-ogy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the pipeline industry. Despite the unification of pro-jects by objective (i.e., reducing GHG emissions), there exists the risk of losing the collective knowledge and directed effort toward the objective due to individualized nature of each project. Thus, a need exists to collect in summary fashion the high-level summary and conclusions of each individual project in a single document, thereby making all the GHG SRP research accessible through inclusion in this compendium. The compendium herewith integrates the high-level summaries and major conclusions from each individual project funded through the GHG SRP. The target audience for this compendium includes a broad range of stakeholders, including entry-level engineers seeking to understand the full scope of GHG emission issues and technologies to abate them, mid-level engineers and decision makers working to develop and deploy technology, and upper-level executives seeking to provide long-term direction to their organization's environ-mental impact mitigation plans and strategies.
