Metallic Lunula Pendants from the Burials of Ust’-Alma Necropolis (South-Western Crimea)

<jats:p>The article examines finds of gold, silver and bronze lunula pendants from the burials of the Late Scythian Ust’-Alma necropolis, located in south-western Crimea and dating from the second half or late 2nd century BC to the middle of the 3rd century AD. The collection of lunula pendants comprises 34 finds, which are classified into four types. The article provides information on the archaeological context of these finds and on the dating of the burial complexes. The earliest burials with lunula pendants date to the middle to the second half of the 1st century AD,, the latest graves date to the first half to the middle of the 3rd century AD. Most are burials of women and children; only four may have contained men.</jats:p>
