<jats:p>The article presents the manifestations of the dance song genre in Shirak. Dance song is one of the most ancient and popular genres of Armenian folklore. Dance has accompanied humanity since ancient times, when the prehistoric man ensured the success of his future actions by dancing before hunting. Gradually, dance evolves into a foundational element of ritual action, merging with melody and accompanying speech to create a cohesive, syncretic unity of dance, song, and music. The prehistoric syncretic art has acquired a new form and changed its function as it has been passed down through the ages. Keeping the genealogical meaning and elements inside, the dance song gets a new shade and function in each historical period, meeting the requirements of the given time.</jats:p>
