<jats:p>Dance has been an integral part of human life since ancient times, and such a wide use of dance was associated with rituals, customs and beliefs. The prevalence of dances makes it possible to observe them in various fields. This report is dedicated to the investigation of the connection between fiction and ethnography, moreover, the works of the three authors selected as typical examples are examined from a textological and folkloristics standpoint. Focusing specifically on military dances and examining them within the context of literary works, we have chosen “The Dance of the Sassountsis” by Gevorg Emin as our primary example. Researcher Zh. Khachatryan describes the martial dance by stating, “They engage in hand-to-hand combat instead of using weapons. These dances are collectively known as clap dances. The most typical example of clap dances is yarkhushta dance (de bzhan, bzhan, yarkhishta, clap- game, etc.)”. Separating yarkhushta from martial dance and considering it as a transitional idea, we compared it to the example involving ritual – text – move, dance rhythm – structure of the work.</jats:p>
