<jats:p>The Dutch composer Alexander de Boer used the pseudonym Komitas for many years. This way he signed many of his works. During that time, along with other works, he authored a number of compositions that are based on Armenian musical melodies, drawn from folk music, spiritual music or art music. His latest work to be based on Armenian melodies, is the Third Symphony, entitled Tribute to Komitas. After the performance of this symphony, the composer considered the mission of expressing his attitude towards Komitas accomplished and returned to his birth name.</jats:p>
