Abstract

During the period of formation of modern Armenian art, namely in the 1920s and early 1930s, the problem of evaluating the cultural heritage of the past gained special importance in the artistic life of Armenia, which was closely related to the spiritual needs and expectations of the newly created Armenian Soviet society. Similar processes took place in Soviet art as a whole, which, in search of its origins, often decisively rejected the current significance of the cultural heritage of the past (the theory of industrial art, the so-called "sociology of art", etc.).
