<jats:p>В XIX–XX вв. на территории Армении велись активные гидростроительные работы. Важной частью этого процесса была территория нынешнего Тавушского марза. Образованные специалисты, одним из которых был Овсеп Абовянц, внесли большой вклад в строительство водохранилищ, родников и оросительных систем на территории области. О подробностях этих строительных работ и текущих затратах узнаем из рукописного дневника Абовянца. Из содержания дневника видно, что у него была высокая репутация в регионе, особенно из-за собственного строительного стиля. Другие документы, хранящиeся в семейном архиве Абовянов, также обогащают имеющиеся у нас сведения о событиях, происходивших в регионе. In the XIX-XX centuries, active water construction works were carried out on the territory of Armenia. An important part of this process was the territory of the current Tavush marz. Educated specialists, one of whom was Hovsep Abovyants, made a great contribution to the construction of reservoirs, springs and irrigation systems in the region. We are informed about the details of this construction works and current costs from his handwritten diary. From the contents of the diary, it is clear that he had a high reputation in the region, especially because of his own building style. Other documents kept in the Abovyan family archive also enrich the information we have about the events taken place in the region.</jats:p>
