<jats:p>A method is proposed for determining the chirp of a subpicosecond laser pulse in the mid-IR range at a central wavelength of 10.0 μm, based on the generation of second harmonic pulses by both transform-limited and frequency-modulated subpicosecond pulses and subsequent non-collinear generation of fourth harmonic radiation by the corresponding second harmonic pulses.</jats:p>
