<jats:p>We consider the one-dimensional stationary Schrödinger equation on a finite interval for a symmetric rational potential with repulsive endpoint divergences and a minimum at the midpoint. An affine coordinate transformation followed by a single gauge transformation reduces the equation exactly to the canonical angular spheroidal equation with spheroidal order m = 1.</jats:p>
