DEVELOPMENT OF THE HOTEL INDUSTRY IN KARABAKH: CURRENT SITUATION, PROSPECTS AND ANALYSIS

<jats:p>The development of the hotel industry in Karabakh is closely linked to the process of restoration and reconstruction of the region. The creation of tourism infrastructure in the liberated territories is one of the priority directions of state policy. In regions such as Shusha, Aghdam, Lachin, and Kalbajar, the construction of new hotels, resort complexes, and ecotourism facilities is being carried out in stages. The current situation shows that Karabakh possesses rich cultural and historical heritage, natural resources, and significant health tourism potential. Among the key prospects are the establishment of hotels in line with international standards, the implementation of modern services within the framework of “smart city and smart village” projects, ensuring environmental sustainability, and integrating the region into national and international tourism routes. The conducted analysis indicates that attracting investments, ensuring security, and developing transport infrastructure are the main factors determining the sustainable development of the hotel industry in Karabakh.
