Abstract
<jats:p>The publication presents the author's unofficial translation into Ukrainian of the Law on the Residence, Employment, and Integration of Foreigners in the Federal Territory of the Federal Republic of Germany – Gesetz über den Aufenthalt, die Erwerbstätigkeit und die Integration von Ausländern im Bundesgebiet (Residence Law – Aufenthaltsgesetz, AufenthG). The law is one of the key regulatory legal acts of German migration legislation. It defines the legal principles of foreigners' entry into the country, their stay and the implementation of labor and entrepreneurial activities, establishes the types and conditions for issuing residence permits, regulates issues of professional training, education, employment, family reunification, granting the right to stay on humanitarian and political grounds, as well as the participation of foreigners in integration programs. Separate provisions are devoted to the competence of state bodies, administrative procedures, personal data protection, termination of legal stay, fulfillment of the obligation to leave the territory of the state and legal liability for violation of migration legislation. The translation was prepared with the aim of familiarizing Ukrainian-speaking readers with the system of legal regulation of migration and integration of foreigners in the Federal Republic of Germany. The publication may be useful for lawyers, scientists, teachers, students, representatives of public organizations, translators, foreigners who are or plan to be in Germany, as well as everyone who studies migration, labor, and social legislation. The translation is exclusively informative and scientific and practical in nature, is not an official interpretation of the legislation and cannot be used as the sole legal source for making legally significant decisions. In case of discrepancies, the current text of the Law in German, published in official sources of the Federal Republic of Germany, shall prevail. The relevance of the provisions should be checked as of the date of their application using the official German version of the AufenthG (https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/aufenthg_2004).</jats:p>
