<jats:p>Armenian-Iranian cultural relations span thousands of years. They originate from the common beliefs of the ancient period. Although there was a separation in the religious life of the two peoples during the early Middle Ages, the remnants of former deities and myths continued to play a role in folklore and festive life. There are a number of "twin" heroes with such a function in the festive performances that have survived to the present day, which epitomize these commonalities. As a result of the deritualization of ancient folklore plots, the deities or patron spirits appearing in them reach us in human form in the Armenian Saint Sargis, Trndez, Carnival, and Hambardsum, and the Iranian Kusegardan, Kusebarneshin, Arus Gol, Shush, and other spring folk festivals. The negative attitude of monotheistic religions (Christianity, Islam) forced people to present these deities of the past in disguised form.</jats:p>
