Abstract
<jats:p>The relations between the Zakaryan and Mahkanaberdtsi princely houses that came out in the first half of the 12th century and rose to prominence in the second half of the same century, began in the middle of the same century with the establishment of in-law ties between them. Sargis the Great, son of Zakare I, the eldest prince of the Zakaryan dynasty, married Sahakdukht, daughter of Vahram, the founder of the Mahkanaberd dynasty. This marriage, which had a politi-cal connotation, pursued the goal of further strengthening the positions of these two in-law princely houses. Княжеские дома Закарянов и Махканабердци появились на исторической арене в первой половине XII в., и уже во второй половине того же века они обрели из¬вестность. Отношения между Закарянами и Махканабердци, обусловленные наличием сватовских связей, сложились в середине того же века. Саргис Великий, сын Закаре I, старшего князя рода Закарянов, женился на Саакдухт, дочери Ваграма, основателя рода Махканабердци.</jats:p>
