Abstract

<jats:p>Hamastegh (Hambartzum Kelenyan, 1895–1966) is one of the prominent figures in Armenian literature in the Diaspora. In 1924, his collection of short stories "The Village" was published in Boston, and was one of the first to be reviewed by writer, editor, and translator Arshak Chopanyan (1872–1954). In 1913, Hambardzum Kelenyan crossed the ocean and at first appeared in New York, tried to continue his education at an American University but dropped out.</jats:p>
