Abstract
Weaving Urban Futures is a practical guide for creating more just and climate-resilient cities through collaboration. Rather than treating city-making as a technical exercise led by experts alone, the guidebook promotes a process of bringing together diverse actors (community members, grassroots organizations, governments, researchers, funders and the private sector) to collectively imagine and shape desirable urban futures. The guide introduces a step-by-step methodology based on place-based coalitions, emphasizing dialogue, trust-building and negotiation across different interests. It encourages citymakers to move beyond traditional planning approaches and focus on co-creation, social learning and collective action. The goal is to translate shared visions of the future into concrete climate and development actions.
