Abstract

<jats:p>The motif of transformation is one of the most widespread themes in world mythology and oral tradition. Through its multilayered and diverse manifestations, it reflects not only human imagination but also traditional conceptions of existence and cosmic harmony. In Armenian oral tradition, transformation appears in numerous forms; however, the transformations of female characters occupy a distinctive place. This article examines the structural and typological system of female transformations in Armenian wonder tales, interpreting them as liminal transitional states.</jats:p>
