<jats:p>The riddle constitutes one of the most vibrant and enduring genres within the folklore tradition of the Shirak region. As in other folklore genres, riddles also contain structural elements that are rooted in formulaic patterns and archetypal modes of thinking. This article examines the semantic and thematic features of riddles, with particular emphasis on examples recorded in Shirak.</jats:p>
