<jats:p>The article examines the Iranian legend-fairy tale "Gol o sombol". The image of the hero of the tale reflects elements of the ancient cult of the dying and reviving nature, love, fertility, the water element and the patron deities of spring agricultural work. The basis of this folk work is the myth of one of the heroes of the Iranian epic, Siavush, which tells about his love and tragic end.</jats:p>
