<jats:p>The article is dedicated to the study of the development of monumental-decorative art, particularly mural painting, in Armenia from the second half of the 20th century to the present. This research is significant in the context of preserving national and cultural identity and shaping the artistic character of the urban environment. Methods and Materials: The article employs art historical analytical, comparative, and documentary research methods. The main materials include murals from the Soviet period, documents related to their creation, damage, and restoration, as well as contemporary works and international street art initiatives of recent years. Analysis: The artistic, ideological, and technical characteristics of murals created during the Soviet era are analyzed, emphasizing their influence on shaping the urban public environment. The works of leading representatives of Armenian monumental art are presented. The decline of mural painting in the post-Soviet period and its revival in the XXI century through modern international art projects are also examined. The involvement of a new generation of local and foreign artists addressing issues of urban identity and public space reinterpretation is discussed. Results: The article demonstrates that mural painting in Armenia is a continuous cultural phenomenon that, with its new manifestations, serves as an important form of aesthetic, ideological, and cultural heritage. It presents a synthesis of the Soviet heritage and contemporary mural practices as a tool for the cultural identity and visual redefinition of the urban landscape.</jats:p>
