Abstract
<jats:p>The monograph presents a study of agglomeration processes with a focus on the development of transport, tourism, and industrial infrastructure in agglomerations, as well as the specifics of planning sectoral systems in them. The trends in the development of the St. Petersburg urban agglomeration (SPbGA) are compared with their foreign counterparts using the example of the Minsk urban agglomeration (Republic of Belarus) and the city of Lanzhou (China). The role of factors influencing the transformation of the spatial and economic structure of the SPbGA in the 2020s and the differentiation of the economic space of its constituent municipalities is evaluated. The features of taking into account transport systems in master plans of agglomerations are shown. The results of solving two applied problems of modeling the territorial and network spatial structure are presented. The publication is intended for specialists, teachers, students, and postgraduate students who are engaged in the problems of cities and agglomeration development. The monograph was prepared in accordance with the research topics of the Institute of Urban Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.</jats:p>
