Abstract

Currently, occupational safety and health issues are among the key conditions for ensuring the sustainable development of service and industrial sectors. Veterinary and sanitary stations occupy an important place in the system of animal health protection, prevention of infectious diseases, and ensuring the safety of agricultural products. However, professional activities in this field are characterized by a high level of biological, chemical, and physical hazards, as well as significant psycho-emotional workload. These factors may adversely affect the working conditions of veterinary station employees, leading to the development of occupational diseases and a decrease in work capacity. The purpose of this article is to scientifically substantiate ways to improve occupational safety measures at veterinary stations and to develop effective recommendations aimed at enhancing employees’ working conditions. In the course of the study, working conditions in the structural units of veterinary stations were analyzed, and the main hazardous and harmful occupational factors were identified. In addition, statistical data on occupational injuries and occupational diseases were systematized, and risk assessment methods were applied. The research methods included sanitary and hygienic assessment, statistical analysis, development of a risk map, as well as analysis of the results of a socio-hygienic questionnaire survey. The obtained results demonstrated that biological hazards, chemical factors associated with the use of disinfectants, and unfavorable microclimatic conditions at workplaces constitute the leading risks at veterinary stations. Moreover, insufficient use of personal and collective protective equipment and weaknesses in occupational safety training systems were identified.Based on the research findings, a комплекс of engineering, organizational, and sanitary-hygienic measures aimed at improving occupational safety was proposed. The implementation of the proposed measures will contribute to preserving the health of veterinary station employees, reducing the incidence of occupational diseases, and increasing labor productivity. The materials of the article have practical significance for improving occupational safety management systems in the veterinary service sector.
