Abstract
<jats:p>The basis for this article was our personal experience of teaching "Introduction to Linguistics" at Brusov State University and inquiries arising from the need for systemic change. The main goal is: - to present the prerequisites for the need for changes in the content of the "Introduction to Linguistics" subject in the Armenian university environment. As well as - to outline the possible steps, the implementation of which can make the delivery of lectures more effective, stimulate interest in the subject and make the perspective of the linguist's professional activity more obvious to students.</jats:p>
