ԼԵՌՆԱՅԻՆ ՂԱՐԱԲԱՂԻ ՀԻՄՆԱԽՆԴՐԻ ՊԱՏՄԱԳԻՏԱԿԱՆ ԱՐՏԱՑՈԼՈՒՄԸ ՎԼԱԴԻՄԻՐ ՂԱԶԱԽԵՑՅԱՆԻ ԳԻՏԱԿԱՆ ԺԱՌԱՆԳՈՒԹՅՈՒՆՈՒՄ / HISTORIOGRAPHICAL REFLECTION OF THE NAGORNO-KARABAKH ISSUE IN THE SCIENTIFIC HERITAGE OF VLADIMIR KAZAKHETSYAN

<jats:p>The article examines the scholarly legacy of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Vladimir Kazakhentsyan in the context of historiographical research on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. It analyzes the source-critical approaches employed in his works, the specific features of introducing archival documents into scholarly circulation, and the historiographical interpretations formed on their basis. The study demonstrates that, within the new academic environment that emerged after the independence of the Republic of Armenia, Kazakhentsyan was among the first historians to systematically employ previously closed or restricted archival materials and, on the basis of these sources, to reconstruct the principal stages in the historical development of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. The article emphasizes that the historian’s studies played an important role in the scholarly elucidation of various aspects of the history of Artsakh, as well as in the documentary substantiation of the historical foundations of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.</jats:p>
