Abstract
<jats:p>Digital Transformation and Civil Litigation in the Republic of Serbia, by Dr Branka Babović Vuksanović, is the first comprehensive monograph in Serbian legal scholarship devoted to the goals, capacities and implications of using information and communication technologies (ICT) in national civil justice. Drawing on comparative analysis of technologically advanced jurisdictions, the author situates Serbian civil procedure in the first phase of judicial digitalisation and systematically examines how existing procedural legislation regulates ICT use in courts, in enforcement proceedings and in notarial practice. The core of the book is a detailed critique of the normative framework for ICT in civil litigation. The author analysis: electronic filing and service of documents, remote hearings, small‑claims litigation, mass claims, payment order procedures, and automated enforcement based on authentic documents. The author offers concrete proposals for standardized digital forms and tools to improve access to justice and accelerate decision‑making. Furthermore, the monograph examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in civil justice. Overall, the book offers a systematic synthesis of normative, theoretical and practical aspects of digitalisation in civil procedure and advances specific, well‑reasoned de lege ferenda proposals for reform of the Serbian Civil Procedure Act and related legislation. The monograph is thus a significant contribution for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, students and all readers interested in the challenges and prospects of digital transformation in civil justice.</jats:p>
