<jats:p>This article examines the organizational and legal mechanisms for implementing the principle of self-governance in the legal profession. Particular attention is paid to the legal status of self-governing bodies of the bar, their powers, financial independence, and accountability mechanisms as key elements of institutional independence. The study analyzes the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Advocacy,” the Law “On Guarantees of Advocacy Activity and Social Protection of Advocates,” presidential decrees aimed at judicial and legal reform, as well as internal normative acts of the Chamber of Advocates. The research substantiates the need to improve organizational autonomy, financial transparency, digitalization, and corporate accountability mechanisms in the self-governance system of advocacy. The author proposes practical recommendations aimed at strengthening the institutional independence of the legal profession.</jats:p>
