<jats:p>The article examines the criminological and criminalistic aspects of investigating crimes related to the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs in the Republic of Uzbekistan. It analyzes the state, structure, and determinants of drug-related crime, as well as the criminal law framework for countering such offenses. Particular attention is paid to the criminalistic characteristics of drug-related crimes, typical investigative situations, the tactics of conducting specific investigative actions, and the use of specialized knowledge. The author examines pressing investigative problems, including the high level of latent crime, the difficulty of proving intent to sell, and the distinction between operational-search measures and entrapment. The article also addresses issues of interagency and international cooperation and formulates proposals for improving the methodology for investigating this category of crimes.</jats:p>
