Abstract

<jats:p>This article examines the legal nature and global role of international anti-money laundering (AML) standards. It shows that although these standards are formally non-binding, they have strong practical influence through evaluation, reputation, and financial pressure. The article concludes that AML standards function both as regulatory tools and as instruments of global governance.</jats:p>
