Metal structures and decorations of swing stairs in the interiors of the mid-19th–early 20th century architectural monuments of Omsk

<jats:p>The subject of this study is the architectural and art metal during of the late Classicism in Siberia with the focus on the use of open modular staircases of cast iron and iron in the interiors of civil and industrial buildings. The aesthetic rethinking of the canonical foundations of Classicism is illustrated by the design of the front staircase in the building of Siberian Corps cloth factory, one of the first production buildings in Siberia, a monument of early 19th century Classicism. The mid-19th century was the time when architectural iron castings flourished in the Ural factories. These were used for decorating a number of Omsk administrative and public buildings. The article suggests that the staircase purchased for the Omsk factory was made at one of the Ural ironworks.</jats:p>
