Abstract

<jats:p>Digital international higher education offers unprecedented opportunities for global learning and collaboration, yet it also presents challenges that affect identity formation and inclusion. Digital divides, cultural differences, and unequal access to resources influence how students and faculty experience participation, belonging, and engagement. This chapter provides a theory-drive, descriptive exploration of these issues, focusing on the psychological mechanisms underpinning identity and inclusion. Drawing on social identity theory, self-determination theory and belongingness theory. The chapter examines how identity, well-being and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4 and 10), emphasizing strategies for fostering equitable and inclusive international educators, policymakers, and international higher education strategists seeking to reduce inequalities and enhance participation in digital learning contexts.</jats:p>
