Local Actions Global Goals

<jats:p>This chapter examines the alignment of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to promote sustainable industrial growth in India. It analyzes how industries integrate SDG frameworks into CSR strategies using sectoral trends, national data, and global comparisons. The role of cultural diversity in influencing CSR–SDG effectiveness is also explored. A case study of ACC Limited demonstrates implementation across education, healthcare, livelihood development, and environmental sustainability. Key gaps include weak SDG mapping, limited impact measurement, and uneven regional distribution of CSR funds. The chapter concludes with policy recommendations focusing on SDG-linked disclosures, integrated reporting, and multi-stakeholder collaboration for inclusive and sustainable development.</jats:p>
