People Analytics and Artificial Intelligence

<jats:p>The growing adoption of People Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the Human Resource (HR) function by enabling organizations to make more informed, Data-driven decisions across the employee lifecycle. While these technologies offer significant opportunities to enhance the function, they also raise critical concerns. Central to this discussion is whether the extensive collection, analysis, and use of employee Data are morally, socially, and legally acceptable. As organizations gain unprecedented access to personal and behavioral information, concerns regarding privacy, transparency, fairness, informed consent, and algorithmic bias become increasingly prominent. These considerations extend beyond humanitarian concerns and have emerged as strategic imperatives that directly influence organizational legitimacy, stakeholder trust, and long-term sustainability. This chapter examines the ethical dimensions and challenges associated with these technologies.</jats:p>
