Gaming, Digital Citizenship, and Radicalization Prevention

<jats:p>The integration of esports into the Revised K to 10 Physical Education and Health Curriculum of the Department of Education in the Philippines reflects a significant shift in addressing digital culture and 21st-century competencies in basic education. This chapter examines the inclusion of esports in Grade 10 Physical Activity Participation, focusing on competitive gaming, teamwork, communication, ethical standards, and esports event management processes. Anchored in digital culture, experiential learning, and digital citizenship perspectives, the chapter explores how esports can develop collaboration, leadership, responsible online participation, and event management skills among learners. It also discusses opportunities and challenges in implementing esports education, including issues related to toxicity, inclusion, and ethical engagement. The chapter argues that structured esports education can foster meaningful and responsible learning experiences in contemporary Philippine basic education.</jats:p>
