Abstract
The climate crisis is one of the most urgent and multifaceted problems of the 21st century, affecting ecosystems, economies, and societies by exacerbating extreme events and disasters such as droughts, floods, heat waves, and wildfires. The complexity of the climate crisis means that managing the problem requires strong public leadership, encompassing the capacity to internalize environmental externalities, set long-term goals, and implement mitigation and adaptation strategies through cross-sectoral coordination. In this context, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and remote sensing technologies stand out as strategic tools that strengthen climate governance and support evidence-based policymaking.
