South African Sign Language (SASL) Place Names

<jats:p>&lt;p&gt;Beyond their pragmatic applications, place names also function as semiotic devices imbued with symbolic value. They facilitate participation in the public space; act as cultural and linguistic artefacts; and serve as sociolinguistic markers.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;This collection presents research and related products from the Department of South African Sign Language and Deaf Studies (University of the Free State, South Africa) on signed toponymy; or place names in South African Sign Language.&lt;/p&gt;</jats:p>
