Abstract

One of the key factors ensuring the reliability of calculating the fire resistance limit of operated structures is the accuracy of the input data.To date, the strength characteristics of concrete used for fire resistance assessment have been determined on samples that have not been subjected to the complex factors occurring during the operation of reinforced concrete structures. To solve this problem, there has been proposed a layer-by-layer method for determining the strength of carbonized concrete, taking into account the pH gradient. In contemporary regulatory practice, there is a misconception that the actual design fire resistance limit and the operational fire resistance limit are equivalent. The developed layer-by-layer method for determining the strength of carbonized concrete ensures the reliability of the input data when calculating their actual fire resistance limit. This method can be used to determine the strength characteristics of carbonized concrete, taking into account the pH gradient, when solving the static fire resistance problem for operated structures. Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the methods for determining the strength of concrete, which are specified in regulatory documents, a layer-by-layer approach to determining the strength of carbonized concrete has been proposed. It will ensure the more accurate assessment of fire resistance of structures.
