Abstract
<jats:p>The paper discusses the current problem of studying parasitic systems in the context of their role in the evolution and functioning of natural communities. It emphasizes the importance of reconstructing the dynamics of interactions in the parasite-host system and the lack of modern data on domestic carnivores in the Chechen Republic and the North Caucasus. The aim of the study was to analyze the current parasitological situation in dogs in the region. The study was based on 154 fecal samples collected from urban dogs (including both indoor and outdoor animals) between 2023 and 2025. Laboratory analysis conducted at the Republican Veterinary Laboratory revealed a total infection rate of 28.08% (58 positive samples).
