Abstract

The Russian Federation includes various climate zones with different honey plants. For maximum productivity, adapted plants characteristic of a particular region are used. Tree crops such as large-leaved linden, small-leaved linden and felt-leaved linden are the main honey plants. However, in some regions, for example, in Crimea, they do not grow due to the climate. In such conditions, preference is given to herbaceous plants that are unpretentious and have a long flowering period, providing a good yield of honey. In Crimea, due to the steppe landscapes and limited access to water, meadow and field honey plants are used. These plants are easy to cultivate and allow obtaining sufficient amounts of honey on small plantations. To do this, select crops with the largest honey product per hectare, avoiding competition in the same area.
