Abstract

<jats:p>The article substantiates an innovation architecture for sustainable enterprise development in the post-war period as an integrated system of technological, organizational, social, and environmental transformations, the implementation of which depends on the financial capacity and organizational resilience of business. The purpose of the study is to develop scientific and applied principles for forming an enterprise innovation portfolio that simultaneously supports the restoration of productive capacity, productivity growth, resource efficiency, human capital preservation, and compliance with European sustainability requirements. The methodological framework combines systems and structural-functional approaches, comparative analysis, logical generalization, content analysis of recent academic research and strategic policy documents, and original structural-logical modeling. The relevance of the research is strengthened by the scale of Ukraine’s reconstruction needs and the remaining innovation gap. According to the European Innovation Scoreboard 2026, Ukraine is classified as an Emerging Innovator and performs at 24.9% of the EU average. The study specifies four complementary innovation contours. The technological contour encompasses equipment modernization, automation, digital production systems, artificial intelligence, and data-driven resource management. The organizational contours include flexible business models, diversified supply chains, network cooperation, agile decision-making, and digital management systems. The social contour focuses on employment preservation, reskilling and upskilling, safe working conditions, employee involvement, and responsible stakeholder relations. The environmental contour combines energy efficiency, renewable energy, circular material flows, waste minimization, eco-design, and low-carbon solutions. The scientific novelty lies in the proposed “four innovation contours – financial enablement – resilience” model, which treats innovation not as a set of isolated projects but as a coordinated recovery architecture. A screening matrix for innovation projects complements the model, based on six criteria: contribution to business continuity and resilience; economic impact and productivity; resource and energy efficiency; social impact and human capital development; compliance with EU and sustainability requirements; and scalability or market potential. The practical significance of the results lies in the possibility of applying the proposed approach when enterprises prepare innovation and investment programs, modernization roadmaps, ESG-related initiatives and projects seeking support under the Ukraine Investment Framework. Further research should empirically test the model across industries, enterprise-size groups, and territories with varying levels of war-related exposure, and develop an integrated index of readiness for innovation-driven post-war recovery.
