Abstract
The article examines issues related to the use of innovative technologies to enhance the effectiveness of enterprise sustainable development amid the digital transformation of the economy and growing ESG requirements for business. The research topic is relevant to the growing global economic instability, intensifying environmental challenges, the transformation of consumption patterns, and the increasing role of digital technologies in ensuring enterprise competitiveness. In modern conditions, sustainable development has gradually evolved into a practical management concept that requires new approaches to integrating economic, social, and environmental goals into a unified strategic management system. Therefore, the study aims to develop theoretical provisions on the use of innovative technologies to improve the management of enterprises’ sustainable development and to substantiate their role as a system-forming element in modern management models. The article examines the evolution of existing literature on the relationship between innovation and sustainable development, in particular the concepts of national innovation systems, the triple bottom line, shared value creation, eco-innovation, and open innovation. It is determined that innovative technologies have gradually shifted from a tool of economic growth to a multidimensional mechanism for ensuring enterprises’ social responsibility and environmental security. It is revealed that most existing approaches treat innovation in a fragmented manner, failing to ensure its systemic integration into an enterprise’s managerial cycle. A mechanism for managing the sustainable development of enterprises is proposed that, unlike existing approaches, combines classical principles of sustainable development with tools for ESG management, digital transformation, risk management, and business analytics. The mechanism represents an integrated set of interrelated elements (goals, principles, methods, tools, monitoring, adjustment, and results) aimed at ensuring long-term stability, competitiveness, and adaptability of enterprises in a changing external environment. The substantiated mechanism can be used for developing sustainable development strategies at the micro level across various economic sectors. Its implementation will increase enterprise adaptability to external challenges, enhance investment attractiveness, ensure management transparency, and create long-term competitive advantages grounded in sustainable development principles.
