PSYCHODERMATOLOGICAL PROFILE AND CHARACTER ACCENTUATIONS IN YOUNG PATIENTS WITH ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA: AN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH

<jats:p>Background. Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in young individuals is a psychodermatological risk rather than a purely aesthetic issue. Hair is a crucial element of non-verbal communication and socialization. The subjective distress is deeply mediated by premorbid personality vulnerability. Purpose. To thoroughly analyze the structure of constitutional character accentuations in young adults (17–35 years) with verified AGA to build an integrated management model. Materials and methods. Fifty patients (56.0% females, 44.0% males) with verified AGA were examined. A. Lichko's Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire (PDQ) was utilized with a cumulative point analysis across the cohort. Statistical calculations incorporated Wilson's 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). Results. The structure of the personality profile demonstrated a distinct prevalence of psychasthenic (626 points) and hyperthymic (614 points) response types. Astheno-neurotic (428 points) and unstable (406 points) components were the least pronounced. Bipolar maladaptation patterns were discovered: ranging from "anxious symptom control" to lowered compliance due to underestimation of disease progression. Conclusions. Psychological screening must be embedded into primary dermatological paths. The heterogeneity of leading character traits requires a differentiated approach to patient communication to enhance long-term compliance and prevent dysmorphophobic reactions.</jats:p>
