Characterization of fiberglass and resin-based composite materials for surface modification with carbon black

<jats:p>The demand for composite materials with improved properties in the automotive, aerospace, and renewable energy industries is increasing due to the numerous benefits these materials offer, such as their excellent mechanical strength. In this research, multidirectional polyester resin (PR) + fiberglass (FV) composite materials were modified by dispersing carbon black (CN) on their surface to reduce wettability and material aging. The samples obtained were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and element mapping. Their mechanical strength was measured through tensile testing, and finally, wettability was evaluated using the contact angle test.</jats:p>
