Abstract
<jats:p>The Woodland 7.5-minute quadrangle is in Summit and Wasatch Counties of northern Utah, situated on the southwestern flank of the Uinta Mountains, approximately 38 miles (60 km) southeast of Salt Lake City. The map area includes the southeastern extent of Kamas Valley, the census designated place (CDP) of Woodland, and the town of Samak. Elevations range from approximately 6620 feet (2018 m) to 9410 feet (2868 m) marking the transition from the valleys of the Wasatch Back to the Uinta Mountains. The Provo River flows south and then westward through the center of the quadrangle towards Jordanelle Reservoir. Significant tributaries of the Provo include the South Fork, Little South Fork, Willow Hollow, Cedar Hollow, South Bench Creek, and Rileys Canyon. The drainage system of Beaver Creek flows westward along the northern margin through Samak and includes tributaries from Red Pine Canyon and Moon Canyon.</jats:p>
