Abstract
The monograph highlights the problem of the formation of the theory of nonverbal communication in Ukrainian linguistics, describes its methodological foundations, stages of formation and development, status, research parameters, and features of “verbalization of nonverbal communication” by units of different levels of the language system. The hypothesis is put forward that the structure of communicative linguistics includes a subdivision of the Verbalization of Nonverbal Communication along with verbal and non-verbal communication. The discursive practice reflecting the national specificity of the verbalization of nonverbal communication, taking into account written and oral speech, is analyzed. The presented theory proves the presence of the parameter “nonverbal competence” in the systemic structure of a linguistic personality.
