Abstract
The war in Ukraine has resulted in a significant increase in the number of orphaned, injured and internally displaced children who have experienced severe psychological trauma. This situation requires comprehensive rehabilitation measures, among which psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation, including play therapy, plays an important role. The accessibility of play therapy and its popularity among children make it an effective means of overcoming the consequences of childhood psychological trauma. Purpose of the study. To examine the practical application of play therapy technologies incorporating cultural and artistic means in the psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation of children affected by hostilities. Research methods. Functional, analytical, axiological, comparative and systems approaches, together with the method of generalising practical experience, were used to investigate contemporary approaches to play therapy, art therapy and other culture- and arts-based practices in children's rehabilitation. Scientific novelty. The study provides a comprehensive analysis of contemporary Ukrainian practices of integrating cultural and artistic means into play therapy technologies for the rehabilitation of war-affected children. It systematises new directions of cultural, psychological and pedagogical support developed during the full-scale war. Results. The findings indicate that play therapy is significantly more effective when combined with art therapy, fairy tale therapy, museum pedagogy, creative projects, therapeutic literature and interactive multimedia programmes. Conclusions. Cultural and artistic means are an essential component of contemporary play therapy technologies used in children's rehabilitation. Their integration into comprehensive rehabilitation programmes enhances mental health recovery, strengthens adaptive capacities, creates a safe recovery environment and should be further integrated into the professional practice of psychologists, educators, cultural specialists, art therapists and social workers.
