Abstract
How will intelligent machines reshape human life? For decades, science fiction has explored this question, but recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) give it new urgency. As chatbots, AI assistants, autonomous agents, and humanoid robots move from speculation into everyday reality, we are confronted with profound questions: How will these technologies transform society, education, and work? Will they augment human capabilities or replace them? Could they even challenge our understanding of what it means to be human? This second edition of the booklet brings together thirteen chapters that examine AI through the lens of science fiction. The contributing authors, all affiliated with Linköping University in Sweden, offer perspectives from a wide range of disciplines.
