Abstract
Modern Satellite Navigation Systems, such as Google Maps, rely on real-time location accuracy within meters. This paper explores the multi-layered infrastructure that makes high-precision positioning possible on consumer mobile devices. While smartphones utilize low-cost quartz oscillators, they achieve nanosecond-level temporal accuracy by synchronizing with satellite-borne atomic clocks, ground-based timekeeping stations, and Base Transceiver Station (BTS) cellular networks. it examines the physics of time-of-flight distance calculations, relativistic corrections, multi-tier hybrid positioning algorithms, and the crucial role of time synchronization in modern telecommunication networks.
