<jats:p>In the highly competitive and digitally transformed business environment, customer acquisition and retention have become two essential yet interconnected pillars of sustainable growth and profitability. Marketing strategies act as the main driver of customer acquisition by building brand awareness, generating qualified leads, and converting prospects into buyers through targeted digital campaigns, personalization, and data-driven content. Simultaneously, effective management practices – especially customer relationship management, service excellence, and personalized experiences – along with robust security mechanisms such as cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy assurance, play a decisive role in converting one-time buyers into loyal, long-term customers. The study demonstrates clear cost advantages of retention over acquisition, with industry ratios typically ranging from 7:1 to 26:1. When properly integrated, these functions create strong synergies: quality retention strengthens brand reputation, generates referrals, and improves future acquisition targeting. Key challenges include rising advertising costs, data silos, regulatory pressures, and evolving cyber threats. The findings emphasize the need to move from isolated tactics to holistic frameworks that unify marketing, management, and security across the customer lifecycle. Such integration maximizes lifetime value, enhances resilience to market volatility, and ensures sustainable competitive advantage in the digital economy.</jats:p>
