Abstract
The article addresses fragmented digitalization as a factor that may weaken enterprise economic security. The relevance of the topic is determined by the fact that many enterprises introduce separate digital tools without transforming them into an integrated system of data, business processes, financial control, management analytics and responsibility for data quality. In such conditions, digitalization may create an illusion of modernization, while the enterprise remains exposed to information gaps, duplicated operations, manual data transfer, inconsistent indicators, delayed control procedures and lower quality of managerial decisions. The article focuses on the economic logic of this problem. It clarifies the distinction between digital tools, digitalization of individual processes and systemic digital transformation of an enterprise. Fragmented digitalization is interpreted as a state of partial, isolated or poorly coordinated implementation of digital tools in different functional areas of an enterprise, in which these tools do not ensure data integrity, process consistency, transparency of responsibility and proper economic control. The study discusses the main manifestations of fragmented digitalization, including isolated digital systems, data duplication, manual transfer of information, the gap between financial and operational contours, incomplete analytics, lack of data ownership, formal use of digital services and inconsistency between digital solutions and real business processes. The article also develops a causal logic that links fragmented implementation of digital tools with data and process gaps, distorted information for decision-making, errors in financial control, procurement, payments, inventories and contractual obligations, and further weakening of economic security. Special attention is paid to the financial component of economic security, because it concentrates the consequences of fragmented digitalization through cash flow planning, accounts receivable and payable, budgeting, cost control, inventories, digital investment efficiency and management reporting. The proposed approach is intended to support the diagnosis of dangerous digital gaps and the identification of priorities for further digital transformation of enterprises.
