Abstract

The article explores the theoretical and methodological principles for developing economic mechanisms to adapt Ukraine's national economy to post-war development conditions. Modern challenges posed by a full-scale war, structural imbalances, demographic losses, the destruction of production potential, and the need to integrate into the European economic space require a review of existing approaches to state management of economic development and the creation of a holistic system of economic adaptation mechanisms. The generalization of modern scientific approaches has made it possible to establish that post-war recovery should be based not only on compensation for losses but also on creating the prerequisites for long-term economic stability and sustainable development. The author proposes a concept for the formation of a functional system of economic adaptation mechanisms, based on the logical triad "adaptability - economic stability - sustainable development". Within the framework of the proposed concept, an interconnected system of economic mechanisms is defined, including institutional and regulatory, investment, financial, and innovation mechanisms; a mechanism for structural transformation; and a mechanism for the development of human capital and social inclusion. The functional purpose of each of these mechanisms is revealed and their role in ensuring the structural adaptation of the economy to post-war conditions is determined. It has been proven that the effectiveness of adaptation processes is determined not by the isolated functioning of individual mechanisms, but by their systemic interaction, complementarity, and synergistic effect. Special attention is paid to the need to improve the institutional environment, activate investment processes, develop innovative activities, modernize financial instruments, structurally restructure the economy, and restore human capital as key prerequisites for ensuring the competitiveness of the national economy. The practical value of the proposed approach lies in its ability to leverage the established functional system of economic mechanisms when developing state policy for post-war recovery, economic development strategies, structural modernization programs, and mechanisms to enhance Ukraine's economic stability amid contemporary global and domestic challenges.
